Daughter kept prisoner by Comrade Bala gives hellish insight into her life
The 32-year-old victim of Comrade Bala (pictured right outside court and inset with his 'collective') only discovered that the far-left Maoist was her father after she was rescued from his cult and underwent a DNA test. The woman, whose mother Sian Davies (left) was raped by the cult leader, told how she was 'bullied, tormented, humiliated, isolated and degraded' during his 30-year reign of terror. She was left with only Bala when he mother died in suspicious circumstances in 1997. Comrade Bala, real name Aravindan Balakrishnan, 74, was this week found guilty of 14 charges, including rape, sexual assault and false imprisonment, against three victims.
